The Intrigue by Silvia Moreno-Garcia [Reading]

I haven’t read noir before, but if The Intrigue is typical of its genre, I’m not much of a fan. I love stories that show people’s humanity and goodness despite their flaws. In this book, by contrast, the main characters just get crueler and more brazen over time. The writing was pretty good, and I enjoyed the setting in rural Mexico. Just not my style, I guess.
