My impossible bucket list, 2026 edition

Inspired by the inimitable Abhinav Sarkar in Bengaluru. This list in non-exhaustive, though it might be to read: Visit every subnational jurisdiction. Every prefecture, province, state, territory, county, dependency, and country in free association. Then maybe every local government area if I run out of those. Have a picture taken at every Japanese train station. Bonus points if I pose next to the station sign with someone dressed as the station or line’s mascot. Forget useless stuff. Not embarrassing stuff though; those prevent me making the same mistake again. Swim from Peninsula Malaysia to Sabah. Then with that under my belt, Australia to New Zealand. Learn Cantonese, Japanese, Vietnamese, Korean, Malay, Ukranian, German, Armenian, Dutch, Malay, and the weird English creole they speak in New Zealand. I kid, New Zealand is amazing, and New Zealanders are wonderful. Maybe another item here would be to try every superior peanut butter they make, made, and are planning to make. I’d…
