Indeed, especially in terms of seats, they were trounced by Labor. But they did present a substantial, though underpromoted, bus service upgrade agenda (largely developed by BusVic). To refresh your memory, Labor promised ambitious bus network reviews for Melbourne's north, north-east and Mildura, only to ditch that after the election before funding some more modest bus improvements in 2025 and 2026. Meanwhile the Victorian Greens wanted to buy a stack of zero emissions buses for use on frequent routes but didn't tell anyone where the would go. So their policy, like Labor's, had no specific "what's in it for me" value. While more grab-bag than strategic, the Coalition's 2022 bus policies were at least specific. Which means we can look to see if any got implemented by their opponents.
