Did another crosstown metrobike ride

I think I blogged about this the last time this happened, too, but tonight I did another crosstown metrobike ride. I don't have good pictures of this, and I won't share the route because it is a bit too revealing of my physical location, but basically: I rode a dutch bike over eight miles across west LA in complete darkness, and it wasn't very comfortable! I am still grateful that we have rent-a-bikes in LA at all - they have saved my ass several times - but riding long distances on dutch bikes is not very fun. For this same reason I cut a ride short last week. I tend to get hip pain from doing this, and the seat shape is not always very nice on your legs, either. For me these are the bikes of last resort. Los Angeles still has a metrobike void in the middle of the city - specifically, in the Mid City neighborhood, which I have to cross to get to the west side from downtown. So if you try to ride across LA on one of these things, you'll eventually get to a point where you are doomed…
