Miller, and which have been noted in the Advertiser, a Bairdstown friend sends us the following, which we are sure our readers will peruse with interest:The first of the series of unaccountable fires that have gradually destroyed the household effects of W. F. Miller and family occurred in August last, one and one-half miles south of McComb, in a large frame house on the Morgan Shaffer farm. In the morning before breakfast Mr. and Mrs. Miller were engaged in driving some stock into the barn-yard and when they entered the house they heard something fall up stairs and noticed a smoky odor in the air. Hastening up stairs Mr. Miller discovered a sack containing rags in flames on the floor, it having burned so as to fall from the hook on which it had been hanging against the wall.
