I recently attended a celebration of life event for Om Malik, who died back in June, and whom I got to know a bit over the decades. We first met in 2005 at what was, I believe, the first WordPress meetup, and had dinner a few years back with mutual friends just as the pandemic was beginning to get under control. He would occasionally mention disquiet.com on his long-running blog, om.co, and it was always appreciated. There were stacks of his books at the memorial event, books he’d owned and that had lined his living space, and we as participants in the event were instructed to take one. A nice way to remember someone.
