Trinket Hunting – New York, New York I’m sneaking in one more picture from the Brooklyn Bridge. Although it’s from the bridge, it isn’t about the bridge, as you can tell. All over New York in tourist-dense areas, street vendors set up shop. Often they sell fake designer handbags, the most popular display I’ve seen. But the merchandise changes based on the context. Near the Metropolitan Museum of Art, I saw large displays of artistic prints and old New Yorker magazine covers. Apparently here at the bridge, it’s keychains. I think this was an authentically good deal at one dollar. You can easily buy a bunch and hand them out as souvenirs back home. They don’t break and take up very little space. On the other hand, the use of keys seems to be declining with changes in technology. For us, we use our smartphones to access both our house and one of our cars. Pretty soon the keychain might become one of those history museum curiosities. Blog readers, you’ll love my free monthly photography…
