What’s New Scooby-Doo? – Deadly 60 – True Stories: The September Issue – 24 Aug 2010

The first recording today starts with the end of The Story of Tracy Beaker. Then it’s What’s New Scooby-Doo? – Diamonds Are a Ghoul’s Best Friend. An ice monster disrupts an Ice Hockey game being played in Russia to steal a diamond encrusted trophy. Velma really likes Hockey, apparently. At the game, a figure skater is brought on before the game, but just gets stuff thrown at her, which seems rude. Fred joins in with some supporters. The Russians think the captain of the US team is behind the monster. They have a scene in Lenin’s Tomb. Isn’t that slightly in bad taste? Velma spots the figure skater getting fitted for a sparkly costume. She ends up in a similar dress for plot reasons so thin it’s creepy. Somehow, the gang are able to get on the ice to try to capture the monster. There’s not remotely any justification for this very unlikely scenario, they’re just on the ice. After the obligatory chase, the authorities recover the trophy, but the diamonds are gone. The monster chases…
