How and Why I Rescued a Housefly 0 ▲ The New Leaf Journal 1 hour ago · Life · hide · 0 comments I recently published an article about rescuing a ladybug and katydid in my home nine days apart in September 2026. That was not my first foray in publishing bug rescue stories. I previously shared my heroic rescue of an ailanthus webworm moth from my building’s lobby and a ladybug from my TV. While I did not share these stories in article forms, I twice rescued bumblebees that found their way into my room. I have rescued a number of moths and beetles. But I do not rescue every bug I see, mind you. I know to leave the house centipedes to their business. There is of course another category of bugs. Bugs that must be terminated. Cockroaches are obvious, as I noted in a house centipede-centric article. But I fortunately do not see many of them. Ants can become a bit much, but I did not have any this year. What I see not frequently, but with occasional regularity, are houseflies. Years ago we had a hoarder-neighbor-induced incident with houseflies. It was traumatic. I have recovered… No comments yet.
