The ferries can’t dock above a certain beaufort level, and the ferry to Evia only runs on thursdays and sundays, so I was tragically forced to endure an additional three wonderful nights on this beautiful aegean island. These were the conditions on the day they cancelled the ferry Fortunately, and despite being the only and final guests, the owners were more than happy to prolong the apartment rental, at nearly half price no less. They were so nice! You have to pass the garrulous greeks sitting around doing family stuff every time you enter and leave the place so there was an enormous doling out of small talk, advice, jokes, and homemade gifts of food, including: Tyropita (cheese pie) Galatopita (semolina pie) Milopita (apple pie) Jars of marmalade × 2 Bottles of rosé × 3 A bowl of rizogalo (greek rice pudding) All delicious, particularly the apple… No comments yet.
