National Noodle Day! #5675: Ippudo Spicy Hakata Ramen – Japan 0 ▲ THE RAMEN RATER 3 hours ago · Food · hide · 0 comments Well, today is National Noodle Day and so I figured I ought to do something, so here I am, doing something for a day with no origin story other than it started showing up in calendars at the turn of the 21st century. As far as for me, my origins figure into this one. I got it at Uwajimaya recently; the place where I initially saw my first ramen aisle many, many years ago as a child. Times have changed; import rules have pushed varieties we might have seen in the 80s disappear. It’s sad. This one won’t have pork in it, but looks to be the same as the spicy tonkotsu on my top ten list which is exciting – I really didn’t think I’d see it in stores, so I’m hoping it’s a nice interpretation.
