making niri work on void 0 ▲ my heart's not .init 2 hours ago · 6 min read1174 words · Tech · hide · 0 comments after working on it on and off for a week or so, i finally got niri behaving on my first void linux install. while i think that learning how these things work for yourself is important, i found the documentation a little opaque, so i'm dropping in my full shell script to get from a fresh install tty to a working niri environment with waybar and tuigreet/greetd as a greeter. if that's not enough for you to get going, void linux probably isnt for you just yet, and theres nothing wrong with that. also note that this was written for an x1 chrome thinkpad running a 10th generation intel cpu, and assumes that you have a wired network connection. i'm not actually sure what you're supposed to do without one, at least until you can install networking software the script: ## update! sudo xbps-install -Su ## firmware sudo xbps-install void-repo-nonfree xmirror ### if you have trouble with installs ("not found" errors), use xmirror to change your mirror sudo xbps-install intel-ucode… No comments yet.
