Timmerflotte flaws

Ikea's very inexpensive Timmerflotte temperature sensor, which supports Matter over Thread, is very difficult to resist. It's slim, stylish, and has a pleasing on-demand LED display. Unfortunately, in its current form, it's severely flawed. The issue is that it frequently drops offline. The only way to revive it, if you're lucky enough to have physical access to the sensor, is to remove the batteries for several minutes. To date, Ikea has not released a firmware update to address this issue. But when they do, you should be able to update it via Apple Home, as in the postscript to this post describes.
