September marked the Bay Area’s 11th annual Transit Month. I didn't realize that there was a month celebrated for Public Transit much less here in the Bay area! I'm not surprised but I was surprised. Here in San Francisco, MUNI hosted an a two-day event called Muni Heritage Weekend 2026 across the street from the Ferry Building! The event was so much fun! I got some fun MUNI merch that was exclusive to that day. I love repping the local transit companies because it's badass. It was amazing to hop on to see some of the old lineup trolleys and buses that once served San Franciscans. I felt like I was taken back in time by taking one of the old routes on one of the old timers. The current fleet of busses and light rail is so much accessible for people with disabilities. Public transit is for all people! I was told that they fixed up the old trolleys and buses at the MUNI depots which is pretty awesome that they do this in house.
