That race exists: the New Balance Kö Meile in Düsseldorf, Germany, organized by former pro runner and local Maximilian Thorwirth and held for the fifth time this year. I ran the 5 km around Königsallee in 2024 and had tons of fun. This summer was my Summer of Speed, 1500 m debut included, so a road mile on the Kö felt like a worthy finale.New Balance Kö MeileThe fastest road mile in the world—or at least a road mile that is world-record eligible.
