Day 233: Lee Chang-dong

2026-09-27Hello!This is director Lee Chang-dong, who presented his drama film Possible Love first to Venice and now to New York City. Before the screening, I photographed him during an afternoon photoshoot.I haven't been back at the red carpet since April, but when registration opened to take portrait photography for the 64th New York Film Festival this September, I signed up.While I didn't get the full press pass to see the theater screening, I did spend a half hour prepping and practicing camera gear before the actors and director of Possible Love showed up to get their portrait taken. I was among professional photographers from Getty Images, Shutterstock, and Microsoft.Hell, I was somehow given the first position in the line to take the portraits, ahead of everyone else. I packed everything I needed and nothing more: camera gear, computer with working WiFi connection, and a dish rag.
