I’m back

I suppose I should start with an apology: I said I was going to publish my next post in July, but went completely silent instead. I’m sorry for that! I meant to get back to writing as soon as we came back from our long vacation. But I kept putting it off for yet another week. And then, all of a sudden, three months had gone by. To be honest, I didn’t feel bad about not writing. If anything, I quite enjoyed having more time for other activities in the evenings. I might never have gotten back to it at all. But our son’s fourth birthday changed that. I want to hand my kids a collection of meaningful letters when they turn 18, so it was time to write one for him. As I started to dedicate some time each evening to that effort, I slowly got back to my former writing habit. When the letter was done, I realized how much I had enjoyed the act of writing itself. I had been missing it without noticing, so I decided to keep going. So here I am again, back to writing a little bit every day and…
