There’s never any warning…it’s just, at some point, I’ll be back in that Fire Emblem mood. I feel the same way about Pokemon, about deckbuilders, and about platformers. It comes and goes like seasons. And every time I dip back into it, it’s always good. It’s good when compared to other Nintendo series, and also good when compared to other tactics RPGs. I’m glad to see the series is still alive. I also think, in some ways, it’s one of the most sustainable and timeless Nintendo series. I. Sustainable I feel like a lot of Nintendo series have that reliable, comfort-food feeling that make them easy to dip back into. Fire Emblem is no exception. I think part of this is because the bare bones of Fire Emblem have never changed. You control a squadron of soldiers equipped with swords, lances, axes, bows, and magic tomes.
