My notebook is a small enjoyment in the day 0 ▲ Statamic 1 hour ago · Life · hide · 0 comments One of the reasons I write book notes in my notebook is because of the friction. It forces me to evaluate if the idea I intend to capture is worth the effort it takes to capture it. If it feels like too much work to take the note, then I'm voting that the note isn't as valuable to me as it seems in the moment. Yes it may be more efficient to take notes directly into my Obsidian vault, but I don't do it and have no plans to speed up my notes by changing how I take notes. But even more than that this month's book made me take a few moments to appreciate the feeling of pen on paper. I've tried fountain pens, but a decent ballpoint is my go to. I leave them scattered around the house, and even carry one in my pocket just in case I need to write something down. I'm not distracted by my notebook and get to enjoy the process of writing and reading. I simply get to sit and enjoy the practice while being immersed in it. So, what are you already doing that provides a sense of gratification?… No comments yet. Log in to reply on the Fediverse. Comments will appear here.
