I made it to Kosezela Lumber in the AM and bought a 7 foot, 8/4 board of poplar. I didn't want 8/4 but the pickings were on the slim side. There was some 6/4 stock but it was only canary wood and teak. I took the scenic route back to the barn which took almost 2 hours. Been years since I have just driven around aimlessly. After lunch I wandered down to the shop to play with the poplar board.8/4 poplar 7 feet long and 6 inches wideThis is rough sawn and at that it was 2 1/4" thick. I got a 7 footer because the width wouldn't give up four legs. hmm.......The tray isn't tacky anywhere I checked. party pooperThe tote is tacky free except for the handle. Don't know why but I know it would gum up sandpaper and steel wool. It will have plenty of time to set up before the wife comes home from North Carolina.before I play with the planesStarted with sawing the board in half. There is no way I would ever attempt to flatten one face as it is. It will be easier to do it twice before I run it…
