I am a heavy user of Find a Grave, both to locate ancestors/in-laws and to memorialize them.Above, what Find a Grave says about itself and its goal, a "virtual cemetery experience." The site has more than 265 million memorials.Over the years, I've added 600 memorial pages and photographed 1,200 graves. Not a very big number, but how many memorials isn't why I participate.Usually I photograph dozens of nearby stones when I'm at a cemetery visiting an ancestor's grave. Very few of those extra photos are of people on my family tree, but I create memorial pages and add them so that others may benefit by being able to view the stones and the basic info about each individual.Gritty details?Recently, another Find a Grave user sent me an edit request about a non-ancestor's memorial page that I created several years ago, after photographing a stone near my ancestor's final resting place.
