Ordinary breakthroughs 0 ▲ Herbert Lui 1 hour ago · Life · hide · 0 comments There are many ordinary moments when I made major breakthroughs in my writing. For example, early into my career, I tried turning my ideas and research directly into articles. Eventually, as I tried moving on towards books, I found my brain just couldn’t handle so much information. I resisted this for a while (mostly because I felt impatient), and eventually came to accept it. I learned about taking notes on index cards through Ryan Holiday’s and Robert Greene’s methods. Not knowing how exactly to do it right, I must’ve written over 100 notecards before I came across the Zettelkasten method of organizing these notes, which really worked for me. In that moment, by deciding to take the notes, I also opened up many new possibilities. I couldn’t tell you which day it was; more likely than not, it was a thought that had been bubbling up for a long time, and I’ve definitely made more than one attempt at it. Every day is ripe with moments like this. The post Ordinary breakthroughs appeared… No comments yet. Log in to reply on the Fediverse. Comments will appear here.
