A Rainy Week 0 ▲ New Hampshire Garden Solutions 1 hour ago · 12 min read2499 words · Nature · hide · 0 comments Saturday it rained, Sunday it rained, and Monday it rained, all thanks to a strange September nor’easter that hit many places much harder than it did here. All we saw was light to moderate rain, but it seemed that it would never end and I was grateful that it wasn’t December snow falling. Anyhow, on one of those days I stood beside the car in the rain on an old road and took this shot with my phone. There was lots of yellow here from black birch, cinnamon ferns and wild sarsaparilla but the sky was dark enough to mute most of the bright color here in the woods. Once I was out of the forest and into the wetlands the sky was brighter even though it still sprinkled rain off and on. The sun even peeked out once or twice but if I remember correctly, not while I was taking this shot of one of my favorite fall views of red maples. I didn’t have time to re-take all of the rainy day shots but we did have some sun late Wednesday afternoon so I revisited the old farm road through the wetlands.… No comments yet.
