Review by Sandre the Giant Released: 30th January 2026 I was sadly unfamiliar with British stoner/sludge/metalcore heroes Urne until January of this year, when everyone and their mother was raving about how good their third full length album was. But I didn’t really give ‘Setting Fire to the Sky’ enough of a chance on initial listen, and only been in recent weeks have I gone back to it to see what that fuss was all about. Boy, am I glad I did that? ‘Setting Fire to the Sky’ is out now through Spinefarm Records. The opening track ‘Be Not Dismayed’ feels immediately like a ‘Wages of Sin’-era Arch Enemy track, such is the perfect grasp of classic melodeath and grit needed for a track like this. The cleaner vocals later on betray some more of their other influences, like Mastodon (more on that later), but there is such a deep appreciation in here for early 2000s metalcore and melodeath in just the right fashion.
