Concert By The Sea

Erroll Louis Garner (June 15, 1921 – January 2, 1977) was an American jazz pianist and composer known for his swing playing and ballads. I recall seeing the album ‘Concert By The Sea (live from Carmel, California)’, 1955, in nearly every Black household when I was growing up. As I’m cleaning up my messy music files, I decided to give this cultural milestone and marker a listen. Looking at the photo of the original album cover, I was pleasantly surprised.”Hey! I got some ‘By The Sea’ photographs, too!” A little later, I was reading up on Erroll at Wikipedia and learned that Art Kane, famous for this iconic photograph IYDK,NYK was the photographer for the cover of ‘Concert By The Sea’.I’m thrilled by that! Sonny & I testify! And getting back to Erroll Garner, he was an AMAZING piano player! Asé Peace, Blessings and Governance,"Guided by the Ancestors"
