He was a South Carolinian author and today’s read was one of the two winners in the last readers’ poll. Holman studied at Presbyterian College in Clinton as well as at New York University. He went back to his first college to work as the director of publicity and Holman also went on to write and direct educational radio plays. During his working life he also worked as an English instructor and became an academic dean. During WW2 he taught physics in the US air force. Holman published his first mystery, Death Like Thunder, in 1942. He wrote six mysteries in total, the final one being Small Town Corpse published in 1951 under the pseudonym Clarence Hunt. Death Like Thunder is an academic-set mystery, inspired by his own working background.
