However, as I mentioned in my end of September post, another distraction appeared lately when the Instagram algorithm discovered that I was interested in classics and philosophical novels… Needless to say, my feed has been flooded with books, many of which I already know about or own (but was happy to be reminded of); and a good number of which were new to me. Dostoevsky has turned up regularly and I’ve been digging out unread volumes by him. However, Camus has also been making many appearances on my screen, and a little exploration of the shelves revealed that I had an slim unread volume which is a work released posthumously – “A Happy Death”. It instantly made it to the top of the pile… “Happy” was an early work which wasn’t published until 1971, and the blurb describes at as book which kind of acts as a dry run for his most famous… No comments yet.
