Don't buy the transparent plastic version of the Makita DCL-180 vacuum cleaner

In my opinion, this vacuum cleaner sucks at sucking, I only got it due to the wife approval factor, and the fact it shares batteries with my power tools. If you’re looking to buy one regardless, buy the one with the normal plastic. If you’ve already made this mistake, then the replacement part name is 451235-0, and in Estonia it was about 6 EUR to get a replacement from an e-shop specialized in selling these parts. The replacement part only includes the plastic shell, you have to transfer over the rubber flap and the screw holding it in from the old one. The transparent bit is cool, and you can more easily tell how much dust you’ve sucked up, but as is the case with most transparent plastics, they are more fragile. With this vacuum cleaner model, you’ll be taking off the friction-fit tube a lot to clean up areas like the couch. That kills the plastic. If you’re unable to secure a replacement, then dabs of glue and zip ties can help keep things in place for a little while longer. On…
