I’ve seen the Housing Theory of Everything, but I kinda wonder if the Healthcare Theory of Everything might work almost as well in the US to make life better for most people? People stay in jobs they hate because they (and their family) need health insurance. This gives workers less leverage in their treatment and compensation by corporations. Universal Healthcare would provide a safety net for workers to leave bad jobs… which in turn could improve conditions at workplaces if workers are not putting up with poor treatment under duress. Older workers stay in positions longer, rather than retiring early, because they need health insurance. This creates a block at the top that prevents younger employees from opportunities to step up into leadership roles. Universal Healthcare would allow people to retire when they want to. Conversely, corporations are incentivized to get rid of / not hire older employees and women of child-bearing age, for whom healthcare costs are more expensive. Age…
