It's the first of October, one of the less consequential starts to a new month. April 1st means foolishness and financial beginnings. May 1st means dancing, witchcraft and socialism. December 1st means Advent, chocolate and red ribbons. But October 1st means nothing much because the September/October interface is mostly meaningless.
