I've been jobhunting and it isn't exactly my first time. I have been unemployed a lot of times ever since I started my first summer job at age 15. That means I've jobhunted a lot of times. Specifically, I have job hunted in very bad economies where my chosen industry was constantly having its budget cut. Now, in customer service and front line retail type positions where I'm competing with every other "unskilled" worker -- teenagers, students, new immigrants, semi-retired people who can't afford to actually retire, and people who need to work more than one job to make ends meet. I have never in my life been headhunted or recruited. I have the economic and social advantage inherent in having had parents in professional fields who could teach me proper job hunting and interview etiquette. I have a rare undergraduate degree and a masters degree in libraries. I have years of experience knowing how to act, dress, talk, behave in front of employers. I know how to find jobs online, I know…
