Honor’s Magic 9 Pro Max Has a Shotgun Mic and a 500mm Lens Mount

“The Honor Magic 9 Pro Max launches in China on September 28 with a directional “shotgun” microphone, ARRI cinema color, and a lens mount that takes a 500mm teleconverter. If you shoot video on your phone, the mic may matter more than its two 200MP cameras, and it hints at where flagships go next.” Very interesting, as my last few phone decisions rested very much around the camera abilities. Most of the other stuff is pretty much the same, or there is enough of it anyway. A 200MP 1/1.28-inch sensor, with proper stabilisation, is also very appealing. I was just saying again, the other day, that we really need standard lens mounts across different phones, especially in the Android ecosystem. I’m not going to splash money out on a lens that only works with one phone brand. This would allow an ecosystem of 3rd party suppliers to produce lenses, and make it more worth their while.
