Are You Floating Down the River or Just Fighting All the Time?

Randomly, I just finished the first book in the Asimov Foundation series. I cannot think of a better fiction book to read right now. Given everything that’s going on in the world, and especially as a U.S. citizen living in the middle of a deeply red state, all of this tracks great with Professor Jiang Xueqin’s Predictive History channel, of which the premise is: things are going to happen and roll, and history repeats itself. Whereas the Bible plainly puts it, there’s nothing new under the sun. It all keeps happening over and over again. The details may be different, but the story remains the exact same. Where Asimov is completely reasonable, Professor Jiang works his theories through a close, spiritual reading of classic books, such as the Iliad, the Odyssey, and Dante’s Divine Comedy. (I’m choking through the Inferno, really trying with the Iliad.)
