There have been a few excellent/previously uncirculated recordings from this 1970 “Woodstock on Wheels” event in Kent turning up in that Bob Matthews tape stash we mentioned a little while back. So let’s take a listen! First up, the Faces in their early days, right before they recorded their second long-player Long Player. The quintet absolutely cooks throughout their abbreviated festival set, whether on ballads or boogies (even their ballads boogied, let’s be honest). By the time they roll into “I Feel So Good,” you’ll be feeling so good, too. Then, there’s a similarly early / similarly feisty document of Mott the Hoople, who were just about to release their second LP Mad Shadows.
