what is going on with ceiling fans

Sometimes new design phenomena slip past even those of us who are most in tune with the happenings of the built environment. Such is the case with whatever the hell is going on with commercial ceiling fan design. Being a member of the renting class, a ceiling fan is something that is beyond my scope of purchase. All that aside, when I found myself trying to find inspiration for how to update the one in my apartment (which has very hideous lighting elements) what I saw genuinely shook me to my core. Ceiling mounted fan with LED element (sure!). Blades made of plastic, shades made of plastic, bodies made out of metal, wrought iron, and plastic made to look like metal and wrought iron!
