543. Caernarfon to Pontllyfni

June 2015 This was the last day of a 5 day trip to North Wales and hence I had to drive home at the end of the day. I also wanted to visit Caernarfon Castle before it closed for the day. I therefore made a fairly early start and left my campsite near Holyhead to drive over to Caernarfon. This meant I didn’t really bother to pack up the tent etc properly, just shove it all in the boot and go – I can sort it out when I get home. It was an easy journey on the A55 over Anglesey, but there was a bit of a traffic queue to get over the Britannia Bridge from Anglesey (as this is the only single-carriageway part of the A55). It was a little sad to leave Anglesey actually, I had enjoyed my time there. Once over the bridge I initially followed signs for the castle car park. But at one roundabout I only had signs for Bangor, Porthamdog or Town Centre so followed the latter.
