Dreams, Entrapment, Liberation: Review of Liza Losada’s Ink Honey Blossom

Liza Losada’s Ink Honey Blossom is a fantasy novel set in a futuristic world where the male population is the victim of a lethal disease called the Blight. Only specially trained women can cure them, using a telepathic drug called “Sona”, which enables them to share their male clients’ dreamscape (called their “SonaScape”) and grant them some of their life force. This has become a monetized ritual, set in specific “Houses” owned by a powerful Syndicate. The women who provide this cure are forbidden to leave their Houses, and are all young or very young, as their life expectancy is short, due to the toll taken by the ritual. Ink is the protagonist and the narrator of the story, and her name describes her specialty: she reads books to her clients to prepare the visions they will share.
