Murder at the Grand Alpine Hotel (2026) by Lucy Foley

But once one has had the experience of waking up to a body in one’s own library, one never really loses the sense that just about anything might happen.” Long time readers of the blog will know that I am not the biggest fan of continuation novels but seeing the Puzzle Doctor’s recent review of Foley’s new book, I decided to give it a go. I think one thing which was helpful, for the nervous traditionalist, going into this novel was realistic reading expectations, and not expecting it to read like a newly discovered unpublished original Agatha Christie mystery. Having now read the book I would say it is a Lucy Foley story with Miss Marple in it, and to Foley’s credit she does a good job of recreating Christie’s iconic character. So, if you have enjoyed Foley’s other work and you like Miss Marple, then this book would be your cup of tea.
