selfish drivers or recency bias?

I'm not sure if it's recency bias or what, but the amount of people that don't use their turn signals or pull out in front of you is incredible. I try not to let it bother me, but it's so damn unsafe. Are some of these people just that selfish? They have no compassion for others? The world is so hustle and bustle. I know people have been saying this forever, but I thought it was only an issue in cities. I don't live in a city. Does this come back to technology and how disconnected from other humans it has made us? I don't know for sure but I definitely think it plays a part. People can't wait that extra 30 seconds for the line of traffic to safely pass by; instead their short attention span forces them out in front of the line of cars.
