Other bad photos I took at the beach

This is what it actually looked like when I was taking those pictures of the darkened trash removal barge I posted yesterday. I needed a flashlight to avoid tripping off the top of the quay: This is a picture I took half a second before this wave actually hit me and made my shoes nasty: I was taking random pictures of the shore while walking around and later realized that because of the way the edge of the beach curves, and the way the hills work on the horizon here, it absolutely does not look I had the camera basically level when I took this particular (mediocre) picture. In particular, it starts to look like I wasn't holding the camera straight when you stand further away from it. I was, though!! I am learning from this and other shots that "taking good pictures" means "only taking pictures of things which are visually legible and do not look inherently like a mistake". The moon was extremely full lately, which is part of why I've been doing this nighttime stuff in the first place.…
