Finesteride Again

I saw the urologist last week. He did various tests including a cystoscopy (normal) and used a probe to measure the size of my prostate (twice the normal) and asked lots of questions. I got onto the questions about Finesteride and gynaecomastia. His opinion was that the breast tissue growth appeared too soon after the start of the medication. I asked if he was willing to request the hormone assays the GP has previously declined to do - and he told me I had to go back to the GP. Frankly, I believe he's wrong. I'm certain in my own mind that Finesteride is the culprit, but now I have this nagging series of doubts in my head I've contacted the GP with the request, alongside the consultant's suggestion of adding Tamsulosin to my regular Finesteride. Unfortunately the AI generated clinic letter doesn't mention either of these things directly, so I'm expecting a bit of a tussle with my surgery when they eventually get back to me. Watch this space!
