Do hard shit. Not the kind you pick off a list and post about afterwards, seriously hard fucking shit that moves you. It should never be fun. There should be no bragging on Instagram and no tales of excellence in the pub. If you can turn it into a story then it wasn't hard enough.I know this one well, I have built whole stories around my own hard things and my ego has loved every one of them. That is the problem with choosing it. You pick the thing, you pick the date, you get ready for it, and the whole time part of you is thinking about how it will look when it's done. Sure, that shit is hard, but does it go far enough?There is also mysogi, the act of doing things you will probably fail at, but I dont think even that is enough. I wonder if we could make hard shit mandatory and applied from outside by a Ministry Of Hard Shit, just so you don't get to choose it at all.
