“The Harbinger’s Redemption” by Skyla Gray [Femdom Book Review]

A book with this high of a body count (in the violence sense) should not be so comforting, and able to be the good kind of fluffy. Likewise, despite being situated in the red flag zone as far as my expectations, (an established series, previously exclusively male dom) I really liked it. I actually enjoyed it enough that I stayed up late to finish it. It’s fairly short, all things considered and slower burn. All its sex are in the latter acts, but a bunch of whump, hurt/comfort and caretaking precedes the characters actually hooking up. The femdom part is straight forward and shows up as both the peril and challenge of the setting itself and the consensual, intentional kind. In the latter case it is also free of hand holding the reader through explaining what BDSM is, a mistake all too many books make. Kink is just introduced as what the female lead (Willow) is into and becomes the lens through which she experiences desire for the male lead (X-16). She has the very familiar to me…
