I’ve gotten in the habit of constantly evaluating myself and I’ve taken that habit so far as to realize that I don’t evaluate myself in a positive light as much as I should. For example, when I was a kid I had a keen interest in washing machines. In my later years I’ve come to realize this is not that odd; a friend of the family’s kid had a similar interest in vacuum cleaners back in the day. And it wasn’t that long ago that I discovered there’s a non-zero number of men who’ve collected vintage washing machines and built little laundromats in the basement of their homes. That’s kind of cool. For what it’s worth, I’ve never maintained the same interest in dryers. Yes, back in the day I could tell what kind of washing machine was running by the sound it made and I knew the variances in regular cycles between manufacturers.
