This month, for the Quinns Quest book club, I have been reading Girl Frame, the toxic yuri mech game by Isabelle Ruebsaat. The game was awarded a Judges' Spotlight award at the 2026 Ennies, and generally seems to be all the rage right now, despite existing only in pdf form with no art but the cover. Who said only lavish tomes sell? I was initially reluctant to write a QLBB about it, as the game remains in active development, despite being popular and played - a bit like the early access hits seen in the video games industry, perhaps? I wouldn't want to write a review detailing my thoughts on the book, only to have it made inaccurate by sweeping changes in the next update - that wouldn't help anyone. Hoever, a recent Patreon Update from Ruebsaat made me change my mind. Through playtesting experiences, she has indeed decided to make sweeping changes to the game, but as the game in its current form has already acquired a massive fanbase, it will be locked in and stay as it is, remaining…
