Sherlock – 08 Aug 2010

It looks like we’ve skipped an episode here, as today’s recording is the third episode of Sherlock – The Great Game. Very careless of me. But I do have a later recording, so I wonder whether last week’s broadcast had a problem, or possible it didn’t record at all. But I’m fairly sure I watched it at the time. I guess I’ll never know. The opening scene doesn’t have anything to do with the rest of the story, but it’s quite amusing, as Sherlock talks to a you English man in prison in Minsk, accused of killing his girlfriend, and throughout his testimony, Sherlock keeps correcting his grammar. The punchline being this exchange. “You’ve got to help me, Mr Holmes! Everyone says you’re the best. Without you… I’ll get hung for this.” “No, no, Mr Bewick, not at all. Hanged, yes.” Watson is getting a bit annoyed at Sherlock’s housekeeping. Watson goes out, leaving Sherlock to enjoy a huge explosion from across the road. Next morning, Watson (having spent the night on his colleague’s sofa) comes…
