Big Data LDN Impressions

The past days I was in London to visit the Big Data LDN event and meet with my friend Paolo and his company’s team at Activate Intelligence. It made for interesting contrasts, and those contrasts made the trip worthwhile where the event on its own would not have. Big Data LDN is a yearly event. I realised as I explored the venue it’s been a long time since I was at a trade fair style event where the focus is on enterprises and business for business sake, as opposed to mostly an exchange of experiences and ideas. That still happened somewhat but it was clearly not the main focus, the program with 280 or so sessions in two days was mostly to ensure all vendors could share something on stage at some point. Of course next to big data, or rather enterprise data (most data isn’t actually big imo, and what counts as big is ever shifting upwards, data is mostly just messy), AI took most of the attention.
