Scribed by Sandre the Giant Released: 6th August 1996 Dying fucking Fetus, a band who you really hope no one in your family asks you about when you’re wearing their shirts, are one of death metal’s most iconic bands. A band who kept the flame of brutality burning throughout the late 90s and early 2000s when death metal had disappeared back into the depths again, their 1996 debut record ‘Purification Through Violence’ is now thirty years old and was the catalyst for a band who are stronger than ever in the modern day, more influential and revered than ever. But back in the day, they were probably known for their name more than their music. We’ll see here though that this was a terrible attitude from the jump.
