God is inefficient

the world he created doesn't always operate on the logic of hyper-efficiency. I like this nugget from this episode of Silicon Spiritualities. God created the universe across the span of seven days. As this episode states, the Bible wasn’t delivered in an “efficient” manner. It seems to me that God is usually urging us to slow down and trust in him. We’re the ones that want the quick fix, the escape, the least painful way through. God is interested in being with us, strengthening and helping us, forming us into new people. Jesus didn’t begin his earthly ministry for three decades. Were those years a waste? Jesus waited before visiting Lazarus. Jesus rested. Jesus did exactly what his Father led him to do—nothing less, and nothing more. The narrative of doing everything more efficiently goes against the grain of the universe.
