Post Games, a podcast by Chris Plante, covered the new Resident Evil movie - which I really liked - by interviewing the guy who made all the old Resident Evil movies. I really liked this interview! Paul W.S. Anderson is clearly an Actual Gamer who has a specific perspective about how videogames should be adapted to film... and what the inherent tensions are in trying to do that. I enjoyed the conversation. I do think that if you interviewed Cregger, he'd have a very different philosophy - and maybe one that I personally agree with more? Who knows! Anyway, it was fun to watch the new movie and then immediately hear a different guy talk about how he adapted the same material, so that I could compare and contrast. You can probably enjoy this interview even if you don't plan to see the new movie, though.
